Located in the historic town of Edom, Texas, Zeke’s Studio is part of a living tradition of craftsmanship that has shaped this East Texas community for generations. Founded in 1849 and once a thriving 19th‑century sawmill town, Edom experienced a creative rebirth in the 1970s when artists began transforming it into a destination for handmade, original art.
That revival was led by artist Doug Brown, whose vision drew creatives from across the country. In 1976, Zeke Zewick moved his jewelry studio to Edom at Brown’s invitation, becoming one of the key figures in the town’s artisan renaissance. Alongside his late partner Marty Flanagan, Zeke helped establish Edom’s enduring reputation for quality, handcrafted work—work defined by integrity, skill, and a deep respect for traditional methods.
Today, Zeke continues that legacy at Zeke’s Studio on FM 279, where each piece of jewelry is handcrafted with the same dedication that first drew visitors to Edom decades ago. Zeke is a cornerstone of the local art community and a longtime contributor to the annual Edom Art Festival, an event that now draws thousands of visitors each year.
Now married to Rese and still living and working in Edom, Zeke carries forward not only his own artistic vision, but also the spirit of the community that helped shape it. Zeke’s Studio stands as both a continuation and a tribute—honoring the past while remaining firmly rooted in the present.
When you visit Zeke’s Studio, you’re not just discovering handcrafted jewelry—you’re stepping into the story of Edom itself, a small town with a big artistic heart and a legacy built by artists who chose authenticity over imitation.
